Jane Magazine Article
Plastic Surgery Journeys (Plasticsurgeryjourneys.com) is mentioned in an article in the June/July issue of Jane Magazine.
It says that my experience was in Brazil. This is not true. My expereince was in Mexico.
It also mentions Candy’s experience (which I talked to the reporter about). If you want more info on Candy - which PS and where - log into PSJ and check the “Complications board.” I have noticed that there is not an equal amount of complications to successful experiences on PSJ. In fact, the majority of our members have had positive experiences. Check it out for yourself.

Hi Lily,
I read the “Jane” article. To my eye — well, it was conceived and written from an anti- cosmetic surgery angle. I don’t have a problem with people expressing their views, of course … but, reading it, I wondered if your own comments had been expressed fairly and in context. That they made a mistake on where you went for PS suggests to me, maybe … a certain hurriedness.

i’m a senior producer at CNN looking to interview a U.S. resident who had a bad plastic surgery experience in Mexico. I’d like to do a story demonstrating the pitfalls of going to Mexico to have surgery. I have already done research on examples of good experiences but need someone to show the risks. Please contact me at rose.arce@turner.com if you are willing to be interviewed for my story or have any leads for me.

I opted for PS in Mexico over 7 years ago. I had a wonderful doctor who did a super job. When all the healing was done, the swelling was down and the redness had subsided, I looked ten years younger. I was extremely pleased. So pleased, in fact, that I will be going back to the same doctor for a phenol peel and dermabrasion in October of this year.
Having PS in Mexico is a safer experience than having surgery in the US. (My opinion ONLY). In the US, you get booted out of recovery minutes (possibly hours) after your surgery. In Mexico a person is kept under observation by the medical personnel for a minimum of 24 hours. Personally, I think that’s safer.
